A compelling approach, now practical 

One compelling approach has been known for decades. It’s called pulsed magnetic inertial fusion.

Pulsed magnetic means a fuel container is rapidly squeezed by a powerful magnetic field created by driving a large, fast-rising electrical current across it. This compression heats and inertially confines the fuel, fusing hydrogen into helium to release massive energy.

The process is repeated over and over, like in a piston engine.

But there hasn’t been a clear path to use this approach for commercial fusion energy. 

Until now.

Recent breakthroughs chart a clear path

After decades of investment by the US government, the US National Laboratories in 2022 achieved major advances in inertial fusion performance — with both pulsed lasers and pulsed magnetic drivers.

The same year, the National Laboratories also demonstrated a new, highly efficient way to generate large, fast electrical current pulses that can drive pulsed magnetic fusion.

Designed for pragmatic economics

Our system is highly modular, enabling affordable manufacturing and rapid iteration. It uses common materials, simplifying supply chains. It’s made of three parts:

  • A fast electric pulser built from thousands of identical parts
  • A small fusion chamber (meter‑scale)
  • Many tiny fuel containers (centimeter‑scale)
